Project name: Doggersbank 77 Offshore
Project partners: Blokland and VULKAN

Challenge:

Construction of a shaft line and flap rudder for a 77 ft Doggersbank yacht.

Solution:

Blokland has engineered the complete shaft line for this vessel equipped with hybrid propulsion, complete with:

VULKAN PROPFLEX thrust bearing mounted between gearbox and propeller shaft, propeller shaft, water lubricated stern tube with bearings and shaft seal, propeller nozzle and a 4-bladed propeller. The rudder has been designed as flap rudder type for optimum manoeuvrability at lower speeds.

A technical component in blue with several parts: on the left, a housing with a visible propeller, attached to which is a long, horizontal arm that ends on the right in a spiral-shaped blue structure. The entire object is depicted against a white background.

Advantages:

The main advantage of this project with project partners is one shaft line partner who is responsible for complete drive line. All components are engineered for reduced vibrations and comfort on board.

Technical Data of the Doggersbank 77 Offshore:

Length overall: 23.5 meters

Overall beam: 6.1 meters

Maximum speed: 11.25 knots
