Special solutions for frigates and submarines
Frigates and submarines are highly special designed ships, which need dedicated VULKAN solutions.
Navy applications place very special demands for example on the drive components. In particular, properties such as structure-borne noise attenuation and shock resistance at high displacement capacities are demanded.
Often the specifications need lightweight coupling solutions, but also non-magnetic designs. For optimum tuning of the units, VULKAN offers special solutions based on the standard couplings range, in part by using non-magnetic materials, and in part with lightweight-construction composite shafts, as well as noise-reducing and large-displacement-absorbing shock mounts.
Particularly Suitable Mounts for Navy
VULKAN is an expert in solving projects where shock requirements (e.g.:BV0230) must be met and has a solution for typical applications as marine propulsions, gas turbines, diesel generators, pumps, compressors, refrigeration systems and auxiliary equipment.
Thanks to our technical expertise in combining the best drive train components and mounts, noise levels onboard of ships and underwater can be significantly reduced. Right at the design stage we can predict the vibro-acoustic performance of drive trains, ensuring compliance with Structure Borne Noise (SBN) limits, in order to fulfill customers’ expectations toward comfort as well as Underwater Radiated Noise (URN).
The VULKAN Mounts portfolio offers the optimum solution for combined shock and acoustic requirements.
