Project name: NIOZ Wim Wolff (inspection vessel)
Project partners: Blokland and VULKAN

Challenge:

Construction of shaft lines and rudders for the new inspection vessel Wim Wolff suitable for shallow draft.

Solution:

Technical representation of a drive system: on the left, a blue housing with a propeller connected to a long blue shaft. On the right, at the end of the shaft, is a grey motor housing. Above it, two smaller components are shown floating. Everything is set against a white background.

Advantages:

The main advantage of this project with project partners is one shaft line partner who is responsible for the complete drive line. All components are engineered for reduced vibrations and comfort on board.

Technical Data of the NIOZ Wim Wolff:

Length: 36.95 meters

Beam: 10.00 meters

Draft design: 1.00 meters

Draft maximum: 1.20 meters

A small ship with a white hull and yellow superstructure is sailing on a large body of water. The ship is creating a white bow wave behind it. In the background, a flat coastline with buildings and trees is visible under a blue sky with scattered clouds.
